Ruger's Love

For years I had wanted a dog. Finally, when I was about nine, my parents took me to an American Bulldog Rescue. I turned my head, and I saw saw those two glistening brown eyes staring at me. I had to take him home. Ruger, I said quietly to myself as I looked at the sign on his cage. Ruger was a gentle giant, white, with brown spots, sort of like a cow. With a few signatures, Ruger was ours. When we took him home, at first he was scared and uneasy, he even smacked his head on the coffee table and then he wouldn't go near it. He was my first dog, and no matter how lazy he was, he still gave me something so special, unconditional love. He got me through some rough times, and for awhile he was my best friend, my only friend. He helped me to make more friends and shed my shell. I am so grateful for him. THE END
